Often, when hearing the name Diamond, most people envision a transparent object that has been cut, polished and valued as a precious gem. When hearing this R&B/Hip-hop/Pop musician’s work, most people are convinced that her name speaks for itself. Born in Richmond Virginia, “this young lady has got it, I can’t believe that she does all of her production from out of her room. She is the future, and I hope to see her become one of the first female producers to go number one on the charts.” Jef Johnson, an A&R representative of Atlantic Records stated. “Her writing ability and vocal arranging are all amazing, God has really blessed her.”

Singing since the age of six, Diamond’s love for music continues to grow. “The beat making is working out in my favor, since I am currently learning how to be more animated when making them. I want them to jump out to people when they are being heard. I don’t feel like I’ve reached that peak 100 percent. I strive to be as close to perfect as I can get things to be this time around, so I have a lot of work to do” Don’t let Diamond’s modest and shy personality fool you. This 20-year old singer, writer, vocal arranger and producer has written and recorded over 50 or more songs within the past year on her own. Not to mention her self produced album Golden Prospect; which is currently playing and selling very well all over the net. “I didn’t think that Hot Like Me would go as far, considering that it was one of my very first beats which was actually used on the album just to make the track listing equal out to 14, plus it was kind of a rushed type of situation. But they love it over there in Japan.” Diamond said in reference to one of her titled tracks from her 2007 album Golden Prospect. Later on this year, she plans to release her second album titled “Reinvented. She’s gearing up a strong promotional team, and she’s putting more emphasis on all that she does.

Besides the music project that she is upholding, Diamond is currently prepping herself to begin teaching Youth Sunday School and directing a youth choir at her father’s local church, she is also working in partnership with her mom to create an nonprofit organization for her local community, and starting a business that will provide a recreational and educational program for the youth. The idea of starting her own recording label is also on her agenda, but when the process will take place is currently up in the air. “I am interested in starting my own label, I think it would be a great educational experience, but I am not concentrating on that too much right now. Maybe in a couple of months it will be priority. Right now I am focused on my education and my new and upcoming album.” She will be graduating with an Associates Degree in general studies this spring, she then plans to transfer to Phoenix University to receive a Bachelors Degree in Communication. She hopes that all of her outside projects will tie in with her musical projects. “If I have to sing to raise money for a year, then that’s what I will do. I will donate anything that I make off of this next album to help any lost soul. I have a true passion for music and strong compassion for others.”

Diamond’s networking scenery is looking quite lavish. She has done collaborations with other local talented artists who she has met through her family members and church. She plans to feature them on her upcoming album. Just last year, she signed a digital distribution deal with Smith Show Entertainment, which has made the digital downloading world more exciting and interesting to her. “The music world is changing, and I want to evolve into that new generation” She is also a member of several other independent communities on the net. Websites such as Songvault and Ourstage has large amount of audiences who are voting her songs right on up the charts. In fact, her song “Bubblegum Touch” from off her Golden Prospect album will always be played on Songvault radio. In addition, she has two other songs that are making their way up the charts to claim their permanent place at the finish line. Congratulations Diamond!

Diamond has just entered her Golden Prospect Album into the Just Plain Folk Awards, if nominated she hopes to bring home a couple of trophies from the event that will take place in Southern California sometime next year. This humble hearted lady has taken home lots of awards in her days. She’s very much accustomed to the receiving end of awards. Her youthful spirit, sweet voice and bright smile seem to capture the souls of any observer in her presence. Diamond can easily become a huge sponge to popularity once she is in action. “Your attitude on your records are way different from your attitude when I am conversing with you. When I hear your music, there’s this person who can be angry, sad, naughty or happy. Then I have to ask myself, is this Diamond? The shy, modest and sweet girl that I talk to on the phone.” Antonio Smith from Smith Show Entertainment stated in amusement to how she projects different characteristics through her songs. In her earlier days, Diamond has collected awards as titled: Leadership, Best Vocalist, Most Talented, Best attitude, Most Spirited, Best Dressed and Great Citizenship, only to name a few. That’s right, the two-timed winning homecoming queen is preparing to steal the hearts of all who are in her path. “The pageants, cheerleading, choir, dance and step teams have made me realize that I love the applause. This time around I will be doing showcases and different performances looking, waiting and wanting for those to applaud.”

The journey has yet to begin for this youthful R&B/hip-hop/Pop artist. “Keep me locked like your favorite radio stations, after all of the great experiences from last year, I can almost assure you that this year will be even greater!”
