   What's the purpose in SongVault for artists, listeners and the music industry?

   SongVault is a media reference guide in finding quality music, where to buy at various retail sites and where to connect with the artists on the Internet.

   We help filter out the millions of tracks and artists and focus on the small percentage that show promise of being of interest to the mass audience.

   We help artists get the opportunity to be promoted and marketed properly so that the general audience is aware of their talent without having to invest a large budget in money and time with do it yourself (DIY) marketing and promotion.

   What makes SongVault unique?

   Without music filtering and a reference guide, the majority of emerging artists that should be discovered on music sites such as MySpace end up being one of the million artists in 'outer space' or artists on CD Baby unfortunately become one of the 200,000 artists hardly ever discovered by the mass audience.

   By providing chart filtering certification, SongVault takes a proactive approach in providing push marketing services with our on-demand radio network and music blogs to showcase artist songs that the SongVault community has shown interest.

   We're working to build a reputation within the music community to use us as a reference guide to find music of interest and where to buy the music and connect with artists

   How many songs can I upload on the radio network?

   We currently allow up to 3 songs at a time per genre. A Song can be changed out at anytime or additional songs added once a song has passed certification and is in 'The Vault'.

   A song can be placed on multiple genres if it's playable on more than one (i.e. Country, Rock or R&B, Pop).

   What type of songs are acceptable for me to submit?

   All music submitted that is your original copyrighted material and you're willing to exempt public performance royalties are welcome. We do not accept songs submitted that are "Cover Songs". They must be your original material.

   We will not take a submission of songs with inappropriate lyrics. If your song contains offensive language, profanity, promotes violence or derogatory remarks towards any race, creed or religion, we have the right to refuse submission of the song.

   Do I keep the rights to my music?

   Yes, you keep all the rights to your music. SongVault is non-exclusive.

   Once I upload my songs what's next?

   Your songs are placed into the on-demand network and placed on the genre selected station. Your songs are now ready to be heard and begin the SongVault chart certification process and music filtering.

   How are songs ranked on the charts?

   The ranking of songs on the charts is graded on a point system based on the listener's desirability to:
   - Listening to a song in it's complete entirety (1 point)
   - Keeping a song on their personal genre-based music station (5 points)
   - Adding a song to their personal SongVault Library (5 points)

   While songs are going through the certification process SongVault publishes a top 20 chart for each genre that is posted and aggregated out to over 15+ sites on the Internet.

   Songs that have been on the station for more than 4 weeks and are below the 200th position in the chart are taken off the on-demand station network but are still available on the artist profile for listeners to preview and add to their SongVault library.

   Songs that have been on the station for more than 12 weeks and are in the top 5 positions of the chart on Tuesday at midnight (pacific time) are awarded SongVault chart certification and are placed in the SongVault Directory.

   What are the advantages to being in the SongVault Directory or better known as "The Vault"?

   The SongVault Directory represents the songs that have gone through an extensive music filtering and chart certification over thousands of other songs within that genre.

   The Vault makes it easier and convenient for listeners and music industry reps to find music that will be of interest and guide them to where they can connect with artists and purchase their music.

   Instead of looking at a catalog of hundreds of thousands of artists and millions of songs you now have a list filtered down to what matters most to the SongVault listener community.

   Free Basic Features include:

   1 - Upload 3 songs for audio hosting
   2 - Use your SongVault profile as your 'starting page', letting others know where else to connect and buy your music across the web. Click here for an example artist profile.
   3 - Songs are given 4 weeks on the on-demand radio network before they begin to be filtered
   4 - Songs in the 20th or higher position are placed on the weekly SongVault music charts and are published out to over 15+ sites
   5 - Songs that pass certification are placed in the SongVault Directory

    We accept mp3s in 128kbps or higher with or without variable bit rate.

    My song was on the top of the charts for several weeks and now my song has fallen closer to the bottom of the charts. What happened?

    The reason songs can have a dramatic change in there rank on the charts is from the weekly rotation of songs being added and removed from that particular on-demand radio station. The charts are updated on an hourly basis rather than daily or weekly and can also show a dramatic change in ranking of particular songs within a chart.

Here you will find various sized banners and displays which you can place on your own web page or other sites you have an account with to help promote and let others know where your official on-demand radio station is on SongVault.fm.

    What if I should decide to leave SongVault?

    Artists can leave SongVault at any time. You must notify us via email with 30 days notice in order to cancel your account. You can do so by emailing us at cancel@songvault.fm.
